What is a Naturopathic Doctor’s Role?
The Naturopathic Doctor is a primary care physician, which means he/she can be your first point of care when you have a medical problem. ND's are trained to take an extensive medical history, perform a physical examination, and review all relevant medical tests (such as lab work or imaging) before reaching a diagnosis and treatment plan for each patient. Many ND's work alongside medical doctors to support patients who have limited medical options and to work pro-actively with patients to prevent illness through better lifestyle and health choices. All ND's take an oath to practice in accordance to the principles of Naturopathic Medicine.
